Noble
Someone born into the blood of the House, and has reached a certain age of maturity or IC authority
Someone born into the blood of the House but has not yet reached the age of maturity, or someone adopted into the house and is fit to become a Lord or Lady
A noble of another house that has sworn loyalty to the house of Riatin.
A guard of Riatin who by some act of great courage, and going beyond the call of duty, is bestowed a Medal of Honor, and given land, a house, a title, and privledges of a Minor Noble
Entertainers
A gleeman is the jack of all trades, knowing a little bit about everything. They tell stories, play instruments, tell jokes, and learn to sing the most basic of songs.
A bard is more of a specialized gleeman, Mastering multiple instruments, and learning epic tales. They are used more for special occasions than a gleeman, and usually hold more surprises.
A bard is almost never too far from one of these, a dancer's job is to put the music and lyric of a bard into dance, and together with movement and song, tell their epic stories. They work well together, and rarely do buisness apart.
Nobility occasionally gets lonely, and the purpose of a Courtesan(Companion) is to get rid of that lonliness, along with any other desire that they may have. They are skilled in... many arts, relating to the relaxation of the body. They are also often used as the accompaniment of nobles to parties, when they are unable or unwilling to go with any other partner
Management PositionsWhat they do, and who they have IC authority over
'Their job is actually no different than that of an ordinary advisor, except that they've been entrusted with the very decisions of the High Lord himself. This job is only acquired by being hand picked out by the current High Lord
This man is responsible entirely for the hiring, firing, and training of the current staff hands that are related to his job. If any of the below fail to do something correctly, it is the Servant Master that is to be held responsible for not doing his duties in training these men and women in discipline.
High Clerks are responsible for the training and editor work for all things done by the Lower Clerks. They are to be blamed for any mistakes that are allowed to get by. They are usually required to be a speaker of the old tongue, and good in mathmatics. As a result, many librarians tend to receive this job. They are also given the authorization to fire or hire other Lower Clerks. They are also part of the Board of Events.
The head librarian is responsible for maintaining the library of Riatin, and for the training of the Lower Librarians. They are to be trusted to ensure that the quality of the Librarians are at top peek, and that they are fully capable of doing their job. They are given authorization to fire or hire other Lower Librarians.
Their jobs are actually fairly easy, in comparison to the other manager related jobs. They are only required to have a good ear for music, so that they are capable of hiring and firing Bards that seek admittance into Riatin. They are also part of the Board of Events

They are required to train their dancers in their art, and teach them delicacy and grace. They are capable of hiring and firing Dancers that seek admittance into Riatin. The Master Chef does not necessarily have to be male, the only requirement for them is their ability to create cullinary dishes beyond those of the ordinary man, and to maintain a strict order in the kitchen. They are responsible for good foods and drinks, and to ensure the sanitary state of the food. They have the authorization to fire and hire Chefs and Cooking Aides. They are on the Board of Events
Their job is only to ensure that the Medics and Wise Women that sit beneath them are capable at their arts of healing with the herbs. They themselves do not have to tend to the sick, only that they are capable of doing so in the extreme emergency. They are charged with the training of Wise Women and Medics, and as a result are required to know a few skills on how to get across a battle field unharmed.
They are charged with keeping the health of those that serve under her, and to make sure that there is a plentied supply of women and men. They are not required to see to the training of their underlings, only that they are disciplined and are free of disease.
The easiest of jobs. They are the principal all teachers and students and are allowed extreme leeway in the discipline of those that are troublesome, nobility included. They are allowed to use force, their limit being no wounds or broken body parts, but the punishment MUST be justified. They are responsible for maintaining high quality teachers, and are giving authority to hire or fire any said teacher.
Their sole purpose would be the training of diplomats in their particular art. There are two forms of diplomats, and each one responsible for a different purpose. They are also responsible for ensuring that nothing is done to the Lords and Ladies, and to deal with all acts of subterfuge directed at Riatin
These people are charged with ensuring that a particular event goes as planned. They gather together and decide what foods, songs, dancers, and decorations will be present, along with how much money it will cost, and their current budget.
House Jobs
These men or women are given enough trust and proxy to be allowed permission to help advise and suggest turns of events for men, and occasionally depending on how trustworthty they are, given permission to speak in the name of the Lord or Lady they are charged with. There are no requirements to become an Advisor except that you prove yourself wise and trustworthy. Scholar Talent is a highly suggested
They are sometimes called the 'fill in' man. They are given all the dull drum tasks of the house, and usually the jack of all trades type things relating to house care. They sweep, they serve drinks, they deliver messages, and similiar. Their main tasks is to keep the House of Riatin clean and easy to travel through. Servants are Male.

Butlers are similiar to Servants in that they are a jack of all trades, but usually they are charged with one particular noble or a small group of nobles. They are a 'personal' servant, if you will, to whomever they serve, and as a result gain a large boost to political ranking amongst the average servant or maid. They can be male or female, though they typically are male.
They tend to the stables. Their responsibilities consist of keeping the horses well groomed, well fed, warm, and healthy. They train new horses, and are meant to keep them disciplined for the nobles. They occasionally drive the stage coaches that take the nobility to wherever it is they desire to go, due to their knowledge of horses.
They are the accountants of the house. They keep track of budget, pay, and enrollment cards. They ensure nobody is stealing money from the house, and that each mark from copper to gold is accounted for. Scholar Talent is a Requirement
Their responsibilies are fairly simple. The alphabetizing of books and scrolls, and to ensure the quiet of the library. Outside of the Library, they are required to be able to translate old tongue, and if capable, learn another language on the side, in this way making them invaluable for travel. Scholar Talent is a Requirement
Self-Explanatory. They cook and serve unique dishes and foods.
These people have no speciic task. They are usually given a job and then given the word 'aid' at the end. They are usually low skilled laborers attempting to find any sort of job for money. Examples are 'Tailor's Aid' 'Clerk's Aid' 'Chef's Aid' and similiar. The requirements for the job are dependant on who's aid you desire to become. [And if they work hard enough, they can apprentice and go upwards in rank]
A female who's worked long and hard in the art of herbs and teas, creating concotions that usually heal illness and injury. They require the Healing Talent.
Better known as surgeons, these men are trained for doing precise knife work and stitching, along with basic knowledge of herbs that deal in the areas of anesthetics and anti-infections. They are trained to work in high stress enviroments, so they are capable of running across a battlefield with limited time and deal with the wounded. They are not combat soldiers and are not trained as such. They require the skill 'Aid' and the Heal Talent.
They select a subject to become a master of, and then teach it to the nobility when their time comes. A Teacher of History, for example. They require the Scholar talent.
They are the ones that have proxy for a particular Lord or Lady, and are required to be fluent speakers, and must know how to speak the Old Tongue. They are a peacekeeper between two factions, usually used to talk things out. A mediator and lawyer of sorts. They require the Scholar Talent.
When public affairs fail... there are always shadier methods. They require the Assassin Talent. To be deployable, they require all associated skills, and complete knowledge of the habits and traditions of whatever faction they are being sent towards for 'diplomatic' purposes.
CraftersCreating a better world an item at a time
They create weapons, and possibly armor. Once they improve enough, they are allowed to have 'Master' added to the beginning of their names. They have IC authorization to promote Blacksmith's Aid, to an apprentice. Forging Talent and Wforge are requireds, craft is highly suggested, with aforge being optional.
They forge armors of leather, and deal with the repainting and management with leather parts, and usually work in conjunction with a Blacksmith to create a sort of hybrid. Forging Talent, Aforge and Craft are requireds, any other skill is optional.
They manufacture and redesign clothing and Jewelry. There isn't much to say about them, so long as they have good taste and skill in their ability to craft something not overly painful to the eyes. They require the Forging Talent and the craft skill. Anything else is optional.
MilitaryThe True Backbone of RiatinThis section will differ slightly from the other jobs in format, as it will list the requirements to obtain said job. It will go from lowest to highest in job types, rank will be included on a seperate page. ________________________________________________
These are people who are fresh off the street and lack skill in weapon and/or ability. They are required to train constantly, and learn survival techniques through out their stay as this rank. They are also required to patrol the city at least one day a week.

Similiar to a Trainee, these are those whom have only recently joined Riatin. The difference being, they are actually capable of holding their own in a fight and/or have a semi-large supply of skills and abilities. They are still required to patrol the city at least once a week.

These make up your average men within Riatin. They are those who have dedicated their lives to protecting Riatin foremost, and the city of Cairhien as an afterthought. Trained in intense combat prowess and etiquette, these men are usually ruffians and street men who've earned their way to a certain level of respect, and have in most ways, become gentlemen. Note: Rank is less determined by your code ability, and more by your roleplay ability, strategy, and loyalty. Code should be the last thing on your mind, even as a guard to Riatin.

An officer is always a higher rank than a soldier, no matter how much time the soldier has spent in the military division of Riatin. Officers are those who have been highly schooled in language and strategy, not by experient but by others that are experienced. Men or women who were rich enough to attend a proper schooling then joining into Riatin. Once completing the trainee stage, they are pushed into this rank. Soldiers who take enough classes and email the rps to ff9blank@gmail.com (under a PC Teacher), have the possibility of being Raised to officer.

Those who have talents outside of Weapon Master and still wish to be part of the military. Wolfkin, Healers, Assassins, Forgers, Dreamers, and Sniffers are an example.
